“Just 260 in pockets before entering KBC and now I am a Lakhpati”, says Banti Vadiva, one of the most popular contestant of KBC 16. Coming from a very small village named Asadi, located in Betul District of Madhya Pradesh, Banti Vadiya was able to reach to the question having winning money upto 1 crore.
Banti mentions about the environment where he is born and brought up saying that people there are less educated and face lack of amenities. However even in the situation of lack of resources, he managed to get a BCA graduate degree and is now preparing for Grade 3 position in Madhya Pradesh Public Service Commission.
Banti says, “His parents are less educated, however they never compromised when it comes to Banti Vaidya’s studies”. KBC 16 first Adiwasi contestant Banti feels that if in a family someone is working, then automatically their lifestyle changes and a better future awaits for upcoming generations.
Since, he is from place where people anyhow meet their daily needs, background is less educated, hence everyone wanted to know how he reached this level, trained his mind and prepared for answering KBC questions. In reply to the preparation part, Banty says that he has been preparing for several competitive exams since 2017 and he has been a fan of Kaun Banega Crorepati since a very long time. He says, he used to watch KBC old episodes on YouTube to understand question patterns, which helped him to analyse criteria and improved his confidence. He also insists that despite of lack of resources, any one can work on them through these simple steps. Banti says he always wanted to become the first Adivashi contestant of KBC and that Amitabh Bachchan, the host of show inspires him a lot.
Banti, when asked about his inspiration behind gaining knowledge and education despite no support and guidance, says, “My parents are noticed that only a few people in our village are working as professionals and realised that those who are working are self-sufficient and have better future. My parents never compromised when it came to my education. They always supported me as there was nobody to guide me.”
On his experience regarding KBC, Banti mentions that he has been able yo fulfil one of his biggest dream of playing KBC. Also he is quite thrilled as his image has totally been changed in his village. Earlier people didn’t know anything about him, but after his interaction with Amitabh Bachchan, people are searching about him and looking for his journey, which is indeed a proud moment for him. Throughout his KBC journey, Banti kept on thanking his parents for always supporting and motivating him to reach the place where he is today and also for being his role model. He says he would never have been able to complete his dream of KBC without the support of his parents.
