Hyderabad, Telangana (18) – In a move aimed at supporting Muslim employees during the holy month of Ramzan, the Congress government in Telangana, led by Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, has granted an exemption allowing them to leave work an hour earlier. It is known that the same decision was taken by the Andhra government even when there was a lot of controversy. Andhra Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu also announced this. This decision has sparked a heated debate, with the BJP criticizing it as an example of “appeasement politics.” Vishwa Hindu Parishad National Spokesperson Vinod Bansal questioned while reacting to the media whether the Congress government had ever granted a similar exemption for Hindu festivals like Karva Chauth, Durga Puja, or Navratri.BJP MLA T Raja Singh also expressed his disapproval in front of the media, stating that the decision was a clear example of unequal treatment. “The politics of appeasement has reached its peak. The Telangana government gives early leave for Ramadan but ignores Hindu festivals. There is no equal justice for all or none,” he said. Naseem Khan, a BSP party worker from Bhiwandi, Maharashtra, representing the Muslim community, welcomed the decision by stating “First of all, I congratulate the Congress government of Telangana for taking such a decision. In the month of Ramzan, it is customary to break the fast immediately after the evening prayer, which typically takes place around 6 pm. The early release of Muslim employees from the office enables them to break their fast during this prescribed time. The Telangana Congress government has taken this decision after thinking about it, so their decision is welcome. If there are any such time Constraints in Hindu festivals , they should also be given time relaxation.” The exemption applies to all Muslim government employees, including teachers, contract workers, outsourcing employees, board and corporation employees, and public sector employees in the state. They will be allowed to leave work one hour earlier, from March 2 to March 31.Both the states of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh have decided to give this exemption, which has sparked a heated debate.
