Suicide Note Accuses ED, BJP Leaders of Harassment: Couple Dies in Mysterious Circumstances as Political Row Heats Up in Madhya Pradesh

Alleged suicide of a businessman, Manoj Parmar, along with his wife in the Sehore district of Madhya Pradesh has turned into an intense political fight between Congress and the ruling BJP. A purported suicide note reportedly recovered after the death claims harassment by ED and BJP leaders. In the note that cropped up on social media, Parmar urged Rahul Gandhi and his other Congress members to at least not desert their two children but care for them. The political scandal created by the murder of Sharma has given a cause of fear and suspicion on both sides of politics. The Congress party alleged that the ED targeted Parmar and his family due to their political affiliations. Party leaders pointed out that Parmar’s children presented their piggybank to Rahul Gandhi during his “Bharat Jodo (Nyaya) Yatra,” signifying their allegiance to the Congress. The party accused the BJP of using investigative agencies to harass political opponents. Congress spokespersons expressed outrage over the incident, claiming that the harassment drove the couple to take the extreme step.BJP Denies AllegationsThe BJP’s media in-charge in Madhya Pradesh, Ashish Agrawal, strongly dismissed the Congress’ claims, calling them “political opportunism.” Agrawal said in a statement, “Doing politics over death is the old vulture-like character of Congressmen. The suicide of anyone is sad, but Congressmen misuse it only to further their personal interests.”Agrawal appealed to Congress leaders to not indulge in baseless allegations and concentrate on facts in the case.ED Investigation and Allegations of FraudThe ED has issued a statement detailing its investigation into Parmar. On December 5, the agency conducted searches at four premises in Sehore and Indore districts under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act.The searches uncovered alleged financial anomalies linked to Parmar and others. The ED said that loans of nearly ₹6 crore, taken under government schemes such as the Pradhan Mantri Employment Generation Programme and Chief Minister Yuva Udyami Yojana, were diverted to other businesses or properties. The agency claimed to have recovered incriminating documents, frozen bank balances of ₹3.5 lakh, and identified four immovable properties linked to the accused.Police Investigation ContinuesSub-divisional officer of police (SDOP) Akash Amalkar said that the suicide note, described as an “application,” was being analyzed. The police haven’t taken statements from the grief-stricken family. The case is still under investigation by law enforcement and the ED. The agencies are now trying to uncover the full scope of the alleged financial impropriety.Political FalloutThe divide between the Congress and BJP is further deepened by this tragedy, and both accuse each other of exploiting this incident for political gain. While the Congress is demanding accountability for what it calls “institutional harassment,” the BJP insists that the financial irregularities found by the ED should remain the main point of focus. As the investigation unfolds, it highlights the human cost of political and financial disputes, and as such, leaves so much unanswered about the deaths of the couple in this rather untimely end.Reported byAnkitaa Bal From ‘True to Life’ News Media
