Bad Parenting; A 13-year-old Assam native girl ran away from Kerala

Assam native 13-year-old girl left home lonely on 19th August. They have been living in Kerala for several years. The girl was found in Tambaram Express from Vishakhapatnam in Andra Pradesh on 21st August. But currently, the girl refused to go back home. The reason behind this incident is the mother tortures the girl to do housework and quarrels with her continuously. The girl was found after 37 hours from Kanyakumari. The members of a Malayali association, who saw her in a crowded berth of the Tambaram Express one of the Member of Malayali samajam association said “We found the girl sitting in the middle of a group of boys. She appeared tired,” Another group on the train said the girl was with them but after further questioning, they withdrew their claim and the girl has been handed over to the Railway Protection Force.

According to the report from the police

The girl left her house at Kazhakootam around 10 am after a quarrel with her mother. The family failed to report the incident on time and despite the state police’s night-long efforts, there was no trace of the girl. Later, when the missing news was spread through social media, one train traveller recognised her, took her photo alone on the train with a bag, and shared it with the police. She boarded a bus to Thampanoor before taking a train. An autorickshaw driver spotted her in the early morning in Kanyakumari.“Two trains were travelling towards Kolkata. On Wednesday night, one of the trains had reached Vijayawada, while the other was approaching Visakhapatnam. An alert was issued to check the trains as we had a hunch that she was in one of the trains,” said a police source. The police sources said they knew the girl would be safe if she had boarded the train. “We were more worried about her safety while travelling from Guwahati to Hojai, which is her native place,” the source added.

That’s why the girl Ran away from her house. Nowadays, so many teens face this issue some of them dare to run away but most of them face it reluctantly. But in this Assamese girl gets the courage to run away lonely. The first reason behind this is maybe the experience before travelling in train. When they came to Kerala from Assam the second reason was the pain and stress from the torturing of her parents. Also, the police said that the girl have only complaint about her mother. That means she is okay with her father. That means the mother is the problem. The government can give counselling to the mother and daughter.
