Delhi’s new chapter with Rekha Gupta

Rekha Gupta,the new Chief Minister of Delhi. After the meeting at the Bharatiya Janata Party’s office in Delhi, her name was approved. In this meeting, Bharatiya Janata Party leader Ravi Shankar Prasad, who was present as an observer, announced the name of Rekha Gupta in front of journalists, saying, “Pravesh Verma, Satish Upadhyay, and Vijendra Gupta proposed Rekha’s name. Nine people spoke in favor of her name. During a discussion with the Journalist Rekha Gupta mentioned, “I thank Prime Minister Narendra Modi, National President JP Nadda, Virendra Sachdeva, Ravi Shankar Prasad, and all the workers. I thank all my MLAs.” Rekha Gupta will be the fourth woman Chief Minister of Delhi. Before them, Sushma Swaraj, Sheila Dixit, and Atishi have held this post. The BJP created suspense in regards to the new CM for the last 12 days. However, on Wednesday evening, by sealing the name of Rekha Gupta, all the speculations and possibilities were paused for good. Rekha Gupta will be BJP’s only woman CM in the present era.Rekha Gupta has won from Shalimar Bagh.She defeated Aam Aadmi Party candidate Vandana Kumari.During the last two elections, the new CM of Delhi lost her seat to Vandana Kumari, but this time she emerged victorious against the Aam Aadmi Party candidate. If BJP sources are to be believed, senior leaders of the party had asked the possible CMs and ministers of Delhi to prepare a 90-day roadmap plan. The BJP high command had asked the potential Chief Minister and potential ministers of Delhi, What will you do in the first 15 days if you become a minister and Chief Minister? Then what will be your plan in the next 30 days? Similarly, prepare a plan of 60 days and 90 days. The special thing is that only 48 MLAs were asked to make this roadmap, and Rekha was one of them.In her first comment after being nominated as the Chief Minister, Rekha Gupta said that she is committed to “taking Delhi to new heights,” and she has full honesty for the welfare, empowerment, and overall development of every citizen of Delhi, pledging to work with dedication.Having a look at Rekha Gupta’s political career so far, we could conclude that she has been a long ally of RSS and left a mark on the party. After completing her studies, Rekha Gupta joined the Delhi unit of BJP Yuva Morcha in 2003-04 and held the post of Secretary here. After this, from 2004 to 2006, she took responsibility as the National Secretary of the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha. In 2007 she became a councilor from Pitampura. In 2007-09 she was the chairman of the Women’s Welfare and Child Development Committee in MCD for two years. In 2009 she held the position of Delhi BJP Mahila Morcha General Secretary. In 2010, BJP gave her the responsibility of being a member of the National Executive.True to life,talked to Mr. Bidhan Das, a professor of political science at Ambedkar University, Delhi. He said, “I think all of us knew that BJP was going to win after all that has been done by Kejriwal, who started as a disciple of Anna Hazare, stating he would never join politics, and then we all saw how his stance changed. From his involvement in Liquor scam to his fraudulent use of money, his funding to his own NGO and a donation of 101 crore to waqf boards in the last seven years, I think Delhi needed a change. We got a woman chief minister after decades, although Atishi was there briefly but merely as a puppet. I hope Rekha Gupta follows her action agenda and carries on the image of BJP as a big change maker and does good things for Delhi, working on water scarcity and pollution issues and issues of women’s safety.”.
