Rajasthan’s Dausa City was marred by a tragic bus accident on a fateful Sunday (5th November) night. Four people lost their lives, and at least 34 others sustained injuries when a private bus carrying over 70 passengers went off course and plunged onto a railway track near the Dausa Collectorate circle. Reportedly, the incident unfolded around 2:15 am.
The Tragic Incident:
The ill-fated private passenger bus, en route from Haridwar to Jaipur, reportedly lost control and fell from an overbridge onto the railway track, nearly 30 feet below, at the collectorate intersection in Dausa. According to police officials, the bus was carrying approximately 70 to 80 passengers, which further exacerbated the severity of the accident. The accident is confirmed to have taken place on Sunday night (5th November) at around 2:30 am.
Tragically, four passengers lost their lives, two women and two men, with their remains now resting in the mortuary of Dausa District Hospital, according to ANI.
Rescue Response:
In the wake of the accident, the remaining injured were swiftly transported to Dausa district hospital by Kotwali police, who utilized a fleet of around a dozen ambulances to ensure prompt medical attention. Local authorities are reported to have acted swiftly in response to the calamity.
Dausa District Collector Qamar Chaudhary, ADM Rajkumar Kaswa, and Sub-Divisional Officer Sanjay Gora immediately rushed to the scene of the accident. They have assessed the situation at the accident site and also visited Dausa District Hospital to inquire about the well-being of the injured passengers.
Disrupted Trains:
The accident also had ripple effects on railway operations in the region. Train services are temporarily halted as the bus obstructed the railway track according to the District Collector Qamar Chaudhary. However, he has also confirmed with ANI that with the help of a crane, authorities managed to clear the track now.
He told ANi, “The train going from Jaipur to Delhi has been stopped for some time, the bus has been taken away from the track with the help of a crane and the track has been made smooth.”
