An accident occurred in Jajpur district of Odisha on Monday. The incident took place at Barabati Bridge on National Highway-16 between 8.30 and 9 pm. The police administration says that “about forty people were injured and five have died due to the bus falling from the flyover.” Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee expressed grief by tweeting and said that financial assistance will be provided to the families of the deceased. Along with this, it has also been announced to provide financial assistance to the injured. He says that the government will fully cooperate.
A hair-raising accident took place in Jajpur on April 15, 2024. This incident took place at Barabati Bridge on National Highway-16 between 8.30 and 9 pm. The bus was going from Puri to Kolkata and about forty to fifty people were traveling in it. As soon as the news was received, the rescue team reached there to help. According to sources, at least five people including a woman died in this accident and about 40 other people were admitted to the hospital injured.

During the rescue operation at the incident site, all the injured were being admitted to the hospital. The police administration is working hard and investigating this.

Pattan Kaun from Dharamshala police station told True to life that “The driver was not at the scene of the incident. Currently, the police administration is searching for the driver.” He also says “Maybe it was the driver’s fault that he fell asleep while driving, that is why he is absconding.”

Expressing grief over this accident, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik said that an amount of Rs 3 lakh each will be given to the families of the deceased, but at present no announcement has been made regarding the injured.
