NTPC Green Energy Limited (NGEL), a wholly owned subsidiary of NTPC Limited, has announced a change in top-level management. Under this, Sarit Maheshwari has been appointed as the new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Key Managerial Personnel of the company. This appointment will be effective from May 10, 2025.Maheshwari will replace Rajiv Gupta, who stepped down after returning to parent company NTPC. The green energy PSU shared this information in a regulatory filing to the stock exchanges on Saturday.Power sector veteran Maheshwari has over 35 years of experience in the industry. He holds a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from Aligarh Muslim University, a master’s degree in power generation technology from IIT Delhi, and an MBA from IGNOU.Prior to his new role, he served as the CEO of NTPC Renewable Energy Limited and NTPC Rajasthan Green Energy Limited—a 74:26 joint venture between NGEL and Rajasthan State Power Generation Corporation Limited. He has also held leadership roles, including project head at NTPC Korba.NTPC Green Energy Ltd. is a subsidiary of NTPC Limited that works in the field of renewable energy. The company develops, operates, and maintains renewable energy projects, including solar and wind power.The company’s main focus is on renewable energy sources, including solar, wind, and hybrid energy projects. With India targeting 500 GW of non-fossil fuel energy capacity by 2030, NGEL is expected to play a significant role in supporting this national vision through large-scale solar, wind, and hybrid projects.”NTPC Green Energy will significantly expand its renewable energy portfolio in the coming years. The company aims to achieve 60 GW of renewable energy capacity by 2032. This includes large-scale solar and wind projects. In addition, NTPC Green Energy is aligning its strategies to meet India’s growing power demand.
