London/Washington (25) – The Prime Minister of Ukraine, Denys Shmyhal explained to the Ukrainian TV that Ukraine has signed a big agreement with the United States in terms of mineral resources. He further said that one of the clauses mentions that the US is supports Ukraine’s efforts to ensure lasting peace and security in Ukraine. The US demanded 500 billion dollars from the income from the assets in Ukraine. But the US military aid to Ukraine amounted to 63 million dollars. Ukraine rejected the US demand as it was many times higher. The US has now withdrawn this initial demand. But Ukraine’s security is not clear. Earlier, the United States voted against Ukraine in the United Nations General Assembly vote to end the Ukraine-Russia war. Also, the President of Ukraine was called a ‘dictator’. The deal comes against a hostile backdrop of the US being seen by allies as cozying up to Russia. Soon Ukrainian President Denys Shmyhal will meet US President Donald Trump in Washington to sign the agreement. The US is helping Ukraine survive a major crisis. While talking to the media in the Oval Office, Trump said that he has provided more financial and military assistance to Ukraine than European allies. The help that America has given to Ukraine. Now they want to recover it from America. Speaking to the media, Trump said, “Ukraine is a brave nation. But without America, their money and military equipment, this war would have been over in a very short time.” Ukraine also has the idea that Ukraine cannot fight against Russia without US help, or that Europe cannot help Ukraine without US.In this earlier agreement, in exchange for US aid to Ukraine, Ukraine would give the US a share of 50% of its mineral resources. This agreement was rejected by Zelensky. These minerals included graphite, lithium and uranium. It is likely that this agreement was signed because Ukraine needs immediate and continuous military supplies from the United States in the wake of the Ukraine-Russia war. Rare minerals used in everything from electronic goods to even military equipment are found in the lands of Ukraine. Ukraine has large reserves of iron ore. The richest area of manganese-bearing ore is near Nikopol. Ukraine has approximately 20,000 mineral reserves. Which includes 116 types of minerals. If Ukraine had signed this agreement with the United States, Ukraine would have had to pay 50 percent of the income from its assets to the United States.
