New Delhi, 21st August 2024: Divya Jyoti Jagrati Sansthan (DJJS), an internationally recognized socio-spiritual organization founded by Divya Guru Ashutosh Maharaj, is set to celebrate Shri Krishna Janmashtami Mahotsav 2024 with a unique blend of tradition and modernity. This year’s theme, “Darshan Itihaas Ka, Parivartan Aaj Ka” (Recalling the Values of the Past & Transforming the Present), aims to connect the ancient teachings of Lord Krishna with contemporary societal challenges. The celebration will take place on the 25th and 26th of August 2024 at the DDA Ground in Sector 10, Dwarka, New Delhi, starting at 7:00 PM each evening. At a press conference on 21st August at the Press Club in Delhi, DJJS Spokesperson Sadhvi Tapeshwari Bharti addressed the organization’s commitment to addressing pressing issues such as violence against women, religious animosity, and environmental degradation. Citing recent events, including the Kolkata Doctor Case, Sadhvi Bharti emphasized the need for societal transformation. “This year, our Janmashtami event will begin with Vedic Chants by hundreds of DJJS’ ved-pathis to foster peace and harmony. The theme, Darshan Itihas Ka, Parivartan Aaj Ka, has been chosen to tackle current social issues through the lens of Lord Krishna’s teachings,” she stated. The event will feature several dramatic performances, including one focused on the revolutionary spirit of Meerabai, designed to inspire and empower modern-day women. Other key performances will include depictions of iconic episodes from Lord Krishna’s life, such as the Slaying of Kansa, the Virat Roop Darshan, and the Slaying of Kaliya Snake, bringing the timeless stories of the Mahabharata and the Bhagavad Gita to life.Swami Narendranand, Global Secretary of DJJS, emphasized the deeper meaning behind the celebration: “DJJS views its Janmashtami event as more than a mere celebration of Krishna’s birth with Jhankis and exhibitions. Sadhvi Tapeshwari Bharti elaborated on the event’s educational aspect: “This 29th DJJS Janmashtami event will clarify the often-misinterpreted leelas of Lord Krishna, such as the RaasLeela, MakhanChor etc, which are frequently misunderstood by logical and young minds. By combining theatrical ballets & spiritual talks, several Swamis and Sadhvis of DJJS will shed light on these divine pastimes, revealing their true spiritual significance.”

Attendees will participate by placing laathis into the model, each representing a personal pledge to protect the environment. As more laathis are added, the mountain will gradually illuminate, symbolizing the collective commitment to environmental stewardship.
