The protesting junior doctors are seeking written assurance that they will not face punitive

court to record the assurance, which the state government reiterated during the second day hearing.
SC Orders Safety Enhancements at Hospitals
The Supreme Court directed the West Bengal government to install adequate safety
measures, including toilets and CCTV cameras, in state hospitals within two weeks. The
court emphasized the importance of ensuring the safety of women doctors, especially during night shifts, and criticized the government’s policy of avoiding night shifts for women as insufficient.

SC Directs Wikipedia to Remove Victim’s Identity
In an important ruling, the Supreme Court ordered Wikipedia to take down the name and
photo of the victim. The court reaffirmed that in rape and murder cases, the identity of the
victim must not be disclosed, a principle that Wikipedia was asked to comply with.
