However the sword of looming trade disputes that hangs on the indo- US relationship owing to the policies of newly elected US president Donald Trump is sure to test the cosy relationship shared by the duo. India is set to become the third largest economy by 2030 and aims to achieve a 5 trillion economy mark and Trump’s aggressive remarks towards new delhi in his first term when he dubbed India as “tarrif king” and “trade abuser” gives a mixed clouded strategic and economic partnership preview of the two country as Trump pledged to impose “reciprocal” tariffs on countries that have trade surpluses with the United States, a move that could severely affect industries in the world’s fifth-largest economy.

Trump policies towards the renewable energy sector can have significant environmental implications. His pledge to stop renewable energy projects on day one of his assumption of office has sent shockwaves throughout the industry. The renewable energy shares are crumbling , according to a recent report by Reuters, Orsted, the world’s largest offshore wind energy developer’s shared fell off by nearly 14 percent, wind turbine maker vestas and nordex also recorded a trade fall of 11 percentage and 7.5 percentage respectively.
This isn’t Trump’s first step towards crushing renewable energy sources. In his first term as president he rendered solar energy panels as useless tagging them to inefficiency of requiring large space as much as that of a desert to generate energy.

While contesting the election Trump promised the biggest ever deportation of migrants who are in US without documents. He also pledged to complete the building of a wall at the border with Mexico that was started during his first presidency. On economic ends Trump promised to cut down taxes and end inflation which had touched ceilings during the presidentship of Joe Biden. Trump in his first term made US the first country to withdraw from Paris climate aggreement and his stance remains clear in this term as well which has led to massive fall in share prices of wind and turbine companies. This has serious environmental implications as well.He pledged to open areas such as the Arctic wilderness to oil drilling, which he argues would lower energy costs – though analysts are sceptical. Trump has highly criticized Joe Biden’s move of helping Ukraine in the war by spending millions and billions, he has pledged to end the war within 24hrs of his assuming the office through negotiated deals.
