Cracked Murder Case in Barmulla: Update on Riyaz Ahmad Mir’s Homicide
The Senior Superintendent of Police at Sopore Police Station in Kashmir confirmed the successful resolution of a murder case in Barmulla, Jammu and Kashmir. The victim’s wife filed a missing complaint, leading to the arrest of the accused.
Update: The court ordered the accused to be in police custody, as stated by PIO Bhat this morning.
PIO Bhat disclosed to ‘True to Life’ that the case, registered under Bomai Sopore Police station, involved the confession of Riyaz Ahmad Mir’s murder by his wife Shaista. Both accused were apprehended, and the court proceedings are underway.
Senior Superintendent of Police, Shri. Shabir Nawab-JKPS, detailed in a press conference on December 3rd that the victim’s wife initially reported him missing. Subsequent investigations led to the discovery of Mir’s body in a trench at his house, concealed with a lid.
Shaista, the wife of the deceased, reported her husband missing after he left home on the night of November 30 and December 1.
PIO Bhat, in conversation with ‘True to Life,’ revealed that Shaista confessed during interrogation, implicating herself and her lover, Waseem Akram Lone, in the murder. The culprits allegedly killed her husband during the night and concealed his body in a trench.
