The Supreme Court said that in order to enhance transparency, it has uploaded the asset details of judges on its website, which is in line with the decision of the Full Court to make the relevant details public.The Full Court of the Supreme Court of India has decided on April 1, 2025, that the asset details of the Judges of this Court shall be made public by uploading them on the website of this Court.The asset details of the Judges have already been received and are being uploaded. The asset details of other Judges will be uploaded as and when the current asset details are received, a release issued by the Court said.The apex court has also put on its website the entire process of appointments to the High Courts and the Supreme Court, including the role assigned to the High Court Collegium, inputs received from the State Governments, Union of India and deliberations by the Supreme Court Collegium, for information and awareness among the public.The statement said, the proposals approved by the Supreme Court Collegium for appointments as High Court judges during the period from November 9, 2022 to May 5, 2025, containing the names, High Court, source – from service or from the bar, date of recommendation by the Supreme Court Collegium, date of notification by the Department of Justice, date of appointment, special category (SC/ST/OBC/Minority/Women) and whether the candidate is related to a sitting or retired High Court/Supreme Court judge, have also been uploaded on the Supreme Court website.Talking on this topic, Advocate Vimal Shukla said, “After the bundles of burnt notes were found from the house of a Delhi High Court judge, a big question of corruption in the judiciary had arisen. The CJI himself had constituted a three-member team to investigate the matter. This team has also submitted its report, which has not been made public till now.”
